TOPPA the new range of haulm toppers by GRIMME

Product group: Mechanization

TOPPA is GRIMME's new range of haulm topper which comes in 5 different types that can crushed from 2 to 8 rows, depending on the following models:

  • TOPPA 200: 2 fixed rows, front or rear mounted
  • TOPPA 400: 4 fixed rows, front or rear mounted
  • TOPPA 600 Combi: 2 x 2 rows folding rear attachment, which must be supplemented by a front Toppa 200 to mulch a total of 6 rows or 3 beds
  • TOPPA 800 Combi: 2 x 2 rows folding rear, which must be supplemented by a front Toppa 400 to shred a total of 8 rows
  • TOPPA 800: 8-row folding rear haulm topper

A Toppa 800 Combi will be on display at the interpom stand, with the following key benefits:

  • Maximum extraction effect with low power requirements
  • PE hood interior lining to limit clogging
  • Rear-mounted pendulum hitch for a centre of gravity close to the tractor. A compact tractor is all that's needed to lift and drive the equipment, which preserves the ridges and greatly reduces their compaction.
  • Hydraulic lateral offset of rear implements, either manually or automatically. In this way, if there are higher or lower connections between ridges or curves, there is no risk of the cruscher knives hitting the sides of the ridges and removing the earth covering the potatoes. This limits wear on the knives and considerably reduces the risk of green potatoes.
  • High ground clearance at headlands thanks to the ‘butterfly’ lift on the rear units
  • No belt transmission. The drive is mounted directly on the rotors to reduce wear parts
  • Ridge pressure wheels can be adjusted centrally for height and individually for pressure, without the need for tools.

Added value for the user (in commercial terms, user-friendliness ...)

Added value for the further sustainability and professionalization of the potato sector.
- Low energy footprint thanks to low power requirements and therefore low fuel consumption - Quick and easy cleaning of equipment to limit the risk of bacteriological transmission - Less compaction and greater respect for the soil thanks to the use of tractors with a limited gauge - Automatic lateral tracking takes the strain off the driver and allows more product to be marketed (fewer green apples). This is complemented by the high ground clearance of the butterfly linkage on the rear units, which means that the mounds are not damaged when manoeuvring at the end of the field.
