The Solana Group breeds modern potato varieties and produces and sells high-quality seed potatoes. The range includes more than 60 varieties for every purpose, such as table potatoes, crisps and starch production. The potato varieties are marketed in around 50 countries. The group cultivates around 9,500 hectares of agricultural land in Germany alone.

In addition to breeding and sales, employees are responsible for advising national and international customers as well as organising and handling international logistics. 

The traditional, independent, family-managed company with around 250 employees worldwide is managed by the fourth generation of Leo von Kameke. In addition to Solana GmbH in Hamburg and the breeding sites in Windeby (Schleswig-Holstein), Ranzin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) and Emmeloord (Netherlands), the group of companies also includes the farms in Ranzin, Bömitz, Kassow, Stöffin, Stolpe, Sekam (Poland), Windeby and Gransebieth, which are essential for the production of planting material. There are also sales companies and shareholdings in ten countries.
